Hiring an RV and road tripping through the United States is a dream for many, and it’s no surprise why!
With 50 states and 63 national parks, this part of the world has so much to offer.
One of the best places to start this road trip is the incredible state of Utah which is famous for its unique landscapes, epic scenery, and low precipitation levels.
This wonderful state is also home to five national parks so what are you waiting for?
Luckily there are plenty of fantastic rental companies in Salt Lake City, which is Utah’s capital.
To help make your decision easier, I’ve hand-picked the top ones so you don’t have to!
So, let’s take a look at the BEST campervan and RV rentals in Salt Lake City!
There are plenty of options when renting an RV in Utah, but I’d recommend using GoSee for the best experience.
It’s a comparison website that will show you the best rental deals in Salt Lake City, so you don’t have to shop around.
The website is super easy to use as you just have to input your dates, and it will offer the vehicle availability for that chosen time period.
Here are some other great reasons to book with GoSee:
I’ve included links to GoSee where I can so you can easily compare the deals for yourself!

Outdoorsy is often the best option for cheap RV rentals in Utah!
It’s an online platform where you can search your preferred area for professional and privately owned motorhomes and campers.
This means you’ll get a large selection of vehicles to choose from ranging from small converted campers to large motorhomes.
Outdoorsy is incredibly easy to use too, as you just need to input your chosen dates and you’ll get a list of vehicles available to hire during that period.
If you book through this platform, you’ll also benefit from FREE roadside assistance and 24/7 support. Not only that, but sometimes you can get the vehicle delivered to you which is very handy!
Booking with Outdoorsy is a safe and secure process, so make sure you check it out if you’re looking to cut costs.
Some vehicle owners even include unlimited mileage in the listing!

If you’re looking for one-way RV rentals then make sure you check out Cruise America.
They have over 120 pick-up and drop-off locations throughout North America including Canada and Alaska so there are plenty of road trip options.
Cruise America is also one of the most well-known RV rental companies in the United States so you know you’re in good hands.
They often have special ‘rental deals’ that can include 100 FREE miles, early booking discounts, and extra nights for free too.
This makes Cruise America a fantastic choice if you’re looking to rent an RV in Utah.
However, just keep in mind that they specialise in large RVs so aren’t a suitable option for someone looking to drive a small campervan.
Cruise America has four types of RV available to hire and one adventure travel trailer.
The motorhomes range in size from compact to large and sleep between 3 to 7 people. This makes them suitable for couples, families, and small groups.
Although the amenities differ with each vehicle, generally each motorhome features air conditioning, a toilet, a shower, and a gas stove.
This makes Cruise America a great option if you're looking for RV rentals in Utah!
If you’re looking for RV rentals in Salt Lake City then Escape Campervans is a great option!

This includes the popular cities of Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco which makes it perfect for the ultimate American road trip!

With Escape Campervans you’ll receive 24/7 roadside assistance, and up to four drivers are covered on the vehicle!
Just keep in mind that this rental company specialises in smaller vehicles, so won’t be suitable if you’re looking for a large RV.
Escape Campervans have five types of campervan in total but only two are available in Salt Lake City.
These are Mavericks and Big Sur which both sleep up to five people. Each of these vehicles also features a rooftop sleeper and a queen bed.

El Monte has a fantastic reputation when it comes to RV rentals in the U.S.

Many of their locations are even open on Sundays, which will give you a lot more flexibility than other rental companies in Utah.
If you hire an RV with El Monte you’ll also benefit from toll-free roadside assistance, free generator use, and airport transfers (at some locations).
El Monte has seven types of motorhomes available to hire so there are plenty of choices.
They have six Class C RVs available that sleep between 4 to 6 people making them a great option for families or friends travelling together.

Similar to Outdoorsy, RVezy is an online market platform that searches your preferred area for awesome rental options.
It’s the largest RV rental marketplace in North America and has a fantastic reputation.
They compare both professional and privately owned motorhomes and campers, so there’s a HUGE variety of vehicle options.
The website is super easy to use too as you just search your preferred dates, and then you can filter out the listings by size, price, and amenities.

Although RVezy doesn’t have nearly as many RV options as Outdoorsy, it’s still worth checking out as the vehicles will be completely different.
If you're looking for Utah RV rentals then make sure you check out this platform!
Salt Lake RV Rentals is located just outside of Salt Lake City centre within Bluffdale.
They’re a small rental company but are renowned for their fantastic customer service. There’s always someone on hand to help with any issues you may have, whether that be by phone call or text.
Each Rental is also covered by commercial RV rental insurance, although roadside assistance and additional liability cover are optional (but we highly recommend them).
Although one of the smaller RV rentals in Utah County, they have plenty of fantastic testimonials on their website if you want to look through people’s past experiences.
You can also take a look at the ‘monthly specials’ where you can receive discounts for long-term stays.
Salt Lake RV Rentals have three different motorhomes available to hire ranging from 6 to 9 berths.
All their vehicles are extremely modern too, with the oldest model being 2018. The newest model is 2022, meaning this company offers one of the newest vehicles in the RV industry.

BISH’S RV has a wide variety of vehicles to offer!

Although Kellville Vans is one of the lesser-known rental companies in Salt Lake City, it’s a great option.
This company specialises in ‘one of a kind’ RV rentals and offers a great rental package.
With liability insurance cover, unlimited generator use on most vehicles, and FREE 100 miles per day, you need to check out this company!
Some of their rentals even allow pets, and they have a VERY flexible cancellation policy too. If you cancel your vehicle more than 5 days in advance, you’ll be entitled to a full refund.

It’s important to keep in mind that some companies will require you to be 25 or over. It all depends on who you choose, so check out the company's terms and conditions before you enquire.
You won’t require a special license to drive most motorhomes in Utah and the United States as a whole!
However, if you’re planning to drive an RV that weighs over 26,000 pounds then extra requirements are needed. Luckily though, most classes of RV fall under this weight limit.
Utah does offer wilderness camping areas, but you’ll also find a variety of FREE campsites and boondocking sites throughout the country.
Overnight parking is also allowed at Utah rest areas but the rules are hazy! There’s a strict No ‘camping’ rule, although you can sleep in these areas for a couple of hours.
It’s illegal to park your RV or any recreational vehicle along a street in Utah. Only in the case of an emergency, are you allowed to park up in residential areas.
Otherwise you’re at risk of the vehicle being impounded and paying a hefty fine!
As you can see there are plenty of motorhome rentals in Utah and it's a good job too...
