And it’s becoming more and more popular every year, as a great way to find unique accommodation.
But if you’ve never stayed in an Airbnb, you may have some concerns with finding the best ones. Here are a few top tips on how to get the most out of your booking.
1. Try to have the whole home/place to yourself
When you choose to stay in an Airbnb property, you can actually choose properties that allow you to have the entire place to yourself!
If possible, go for this option as you get more space and some really cool stays. Otherwise, there’s a chance you will end up sharing facilities unaware.
2. Pick something unique
The best thing about Airbnb is that the options are usually much more unique than a traditional hotel.
You could find yourself staying in a log cabin, a shepherd's hut, a yurt, or even a castle!
Even if you are just staying in someone's beautiful home or cottage, you usually find the attention to detail is above everything else and the hosts make sure your stay is fantastic!
3. Stay longer and save!
What we love about Airbnb is that many properties offer discounts the longer you stay. These come in the form of weekly or monthly discounts.
Not all properties offer this, but do tweak your stay dates and you can often save money just by staying an extra night in the same property.
To make your life easier, we've gone ahead and rounded up the 10 best Airbnbs Fort William currently has to offer.
It’s the perfect mix of unique stays, and you're sure to find one that suits your needs perfectly.
Before we go further, we've also included links to properties on VRBO, this is essentially the same as Airbnb and in some cases, it can be cheaper, or there can be more availability, so it gives you the ability of choice!
Plus, this is the last Airbnb post we will ever host on our website, due to their most recent actions, but rather than remove all their links, since you came here looking for Airbnb, I thought I'd just give you an alternative too!

Just before we finish, I thought I’d give you some quick inspiration on the best things to see and do in Fort William!
1. Ride the Jacobite
From Fort William station, you can hop on the Jacobite train ride, which is a world-famous train journey that takes you from Fort William to Mallaig.
If you’re a harry potter fan, then you might recognize this train, it’s made by the same company who made the Hogwarts Express, and the train journey itself takes you past some famous Harry Potter filming locations in Scotland!
2. Climb Ben Nevis
Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK coming in at 1,345 m, and if the conditions are right, then why not give it a climb!
When we visited Fort William, there was snow on the top, and we didn’t have the right gear for that, but perhaps we can visit in the future and hike it then.
Another popular activity in Fort William is to go skiing.
You’ve got the Ben Nevis ski centre for all your ski needs, and you can take lessons here if you’re just starting out.
If you don’t fancy skiing, you can still take the cable car up the mountain to the restaurant for amazing views!
4. Drive through Glen Coe
One activity you absolutely must do when you visit Fort William is to rent a car (if you don’t already have one with you) and drive through nearby Glen Coe.
I think Glen Coe is the most beautiful area in all of Scotland and the landscapes here are just amazing!
There are also lots of different walks you can undertake, and river rafting is a popular activity too.
5. Take a day trip to the Glenfinnan Viaduct
The Glenfinnan Viaduct is less than half an hours drive from Fort William and it’s well worth the visit.
This beautiful bridge is a fantastic place to visit to see the Jacobite Express ride over.
The bridge itself is magnificent and there’s also a tranquil loch located across the road from the Glenfinnan Visitor Centre which is worth visiting too.
