Hey there, George here. I’m from the UK, and I’m a freelance writer who loves travelling just a bit too much…
Ever since I was young I loved taking risks, and where school ended, travel began. My first trip at 19 to Puerto Rico really sealed the deal for me, and since then I knew Latin America was where I was going to be. I then embarked on a 6 month trip through Mexico, also exploring Cuba as well as parts of Guatemala and Colombia too.
Since 2021 I’m now travelling indefinitely around these parts, and have finally started living my very own travel dream. I’ve been to most of the countries on this side of the world, but the one that really stole it for me was Peru. Either due to the insane food and landscapes, or perhaps those Ayahuasca trips… regardless, it’s one of my favourite places.
I currently live in Lima. It was the first stop on my 14 month trip around South America, and after seeing a tonne of places, I decided this city was where I was going to call home after my travels. Not only is it a bustling commercial capital with some really good foods, it also has endless things to see and do. From here you can also be in the desert, mountains or beaches in just a couple of hours… not a bad way to change things up every now or then.
One of my personal goals is to help uncover these continents as much as possible, to help like-minded travellers like you have the best experience possible in Latin America. You can follow me on Instagram to see where I’ve been so far, where I also share some pretty cool gems and an awesome panoramic video every now and then.
I also love travel writing, and run a few travel blogs too. BLATAM is one of my main sites, where we feature guides from all countries in Latin America. Here I share both personal stories, as well as some itineraries on the best things to experience in these continents.
Aside from writing, I also teach English, love learning languages (picked up Spanish and Portuguese so far), and embarking on spontaneous trips with way less planning than I should have…
